Course Code: BEPS3201
This course is designed to equip pre-service teachers to engage their students in mathematics through problem solving and investigations. The course places emphasis on advancing pre-service teachers’ mathematical sense through immersion in a problem rich environment. s. Teachers will be exposed to different problem-solving models and numerous problem-solving strategies. The pre-service teachers will also be developing the skills and intuition required to select meaningful tasks and create rich learning experiences for their students. Students will use reflection to determine how the productive struggle and various theories have influenced their own problem-solving experiences.
